Quality over Quantity

“The bitterness of low quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.”

In the context of promotional products it is easy to want to pay less. Make sure you understand the choice you are making when you reach for the less expensive option and try to purchase the highest quality that you can.

Ideally, you are purchasing a product that has longevity and a usefulness that enhances your brand’s value. In the case of Oyster’s products, we will always offer a sustainable option, if possible.  And we try to ensure the sustainable option is in line with the price of a comparable non sustainable option.

We help clients ensure their marketing and communications are not considered greenwashing. Fear of greenwashing keeps many companies from even talking about their efforts around sustainability.  We give you the confidence to know that your materials, language, and overall brand are being presented with honesty, transparency, and trustworthiness.

Reusable cups coming to an event near you!

This summer when you go to your favourite music event, sailing regatta, tournament or family get-together, make sure you try a re-usable cup (or BYOC).

More and more events are introducing multi-use mugs or cups that you can refill after your first drink. Not only does it reduce waste, but you also have a memento of the event. This is another great way for event organizers to advertise the event, you take it home with you and the message just keeps getting exposure. Win win!

Sporting events in Europe such as the French Open Tennis Tournament at Roland Garros have been offering a dishwasher safe mug that can be re-used. They have reduced carbon emissions at the event by 2 tonnes as a result.

Glastonbury Festival in England started using a recycled stainless pint cup in 2016, encouraging festival goers to reduce and re-use.

Osheaga in Quebec has been using a re-usable cup and we are hoping to see this trend continue across Canada, the US and around the world.

Trend-spotting alert: This will be the new way. With events and festivals offering creatively designed cups and mugs that become keepsakes, it’s easier than ever to make the choice that our planet and in particular, our oceans, will thank you for.
