Three Keys to Successful Branded Merch.

Branded merchandise is such a powerful medium for building brand awareness. Three keys to making your merch a success include: making sure that the fit, design, and environment are on brand and right for your audience and the end recipient.

1) Right Product:
How can you tell what the right product is?  Think about the end recipient - what works for them and how you want them to feel.  Is there a story that goes with the product to build an emotional connection?

Choose products that are good quality and useful.  Make sure the product aligns with your values and the values of your organization.  Recycled and recyclable products and ones that have a giving back component are growing fast in popularity.

2) Right Design:
Getting the design right is key.  You can make an inexpensive product into something amazing by a good design.  Part of this is also making sure your artwork is camera ready:  high resolution .eps or .ai files.  Have your brand and artwork PMS colours on hand.

3) Right environment - location and timing:
Think about the environment that people will be receiving your merch.  Is it a quick booth giveaway, an employee gift, an incentive piece?  Presentation and packaging can be just as important as the merch itself.
